Self-assessment accuracy in predicting Nclex
Hello, I am making this post because there has been a lot of uncertainty on how good the self-assessment is in predicting Nclex outcomes. In my eyes, the self assessment only damaged my confidence because even though I was 13% higher than average, it told me my chances of passing were low. If it is because I missed some dumb important questions it is possible that that's what happened, so I may be slightly biased. I passed the Nclex the first time, and it shut off at 75 questions; I felt very competent during the test, and I don't think it was harder than Uworld. In fact, I felt like I was using Uworld during the test. The best advice I can give is to do 100-120 questions a day, divided into 20-30 question quizzes because you should be reading rationales and trying to understand the content (I did this even on questions I got right). I answered a total of 1,500 questions altogether, while letting pharm questions repeat because there's only so much to know about each of them. Do not be afraid if the self-assessment tells you your chances of passing are low. As long as your quiz scores are in the mid 60's or higher you will be fine. I took over 40 quizzes altogether, and I may have scored 40s in 3 or 4, out of 40. Keep doing your questions and trying to understand the rationales, that's gonna be your best friend.
Good luck everyone
