hepatitis question

i have some questions regarding hepatitis....it might sound a little bit foolish but i'm confused; my confusion is about antibodies against HBV and HCV....

for HBV: they say patient is positive for HBs or HBc antibodies.....what does this mean? positive for IgG or IgM?

for HCV: they say patient is positive for HCV antibodies....again, they talk about IgG or IgM antibodies?

last thing: IgG antibodies against HBs means immunity; IgG against HCV means also immunity? IgM against HBs or HCV means infectiveness with hepatitis B and C respectively right?

please help....thanks to anybody who wants to clear this concept for me.

Q1. these antibodies are initially igM and then igG.. indicating acute or chronicity...same as other cases.
Q2.if a pt is postive for HBS or HBC antibodies..he would be positive for igG or Ig M depending upon how acute or chronic the infection is ...same concept as with other diseases.
Q3.for hep C ..same as above
Q4 Antibodies for Hep C are NON protective and hence they do NOT confer immunity
