i've been on this forum for about 1 year now....i'm getting ready at this moment for step 2 ck and doing uworld q bank; i've done about 60% of the questions and i have this concerne which really makes me feel anxious about the real exam: all the tests which i've done from uworld q-book i could NOT finish them in less than 60 minutes(i need about 10 minutes extra time for every block and on each block i tried to have 44 questions like on usmle) and i was wondering if the real exam has the same long and hard type of questions? anybody who had the same problem maybe could tell me how was the real exam comparing to uworld(i mean timing issue); i know this is very hard to say but maybe some of you who took the exam can tell me a little bit about this concerne. thanks to anybody who can help and good luck to everybody....

Hi fri,
I also finished uworld qbank one time. I got 71% correct rate on average. My exam is in December. I don't have a problem with the time allowed in step 2 but I got a problem with time limit in step one. I want to advice you that you don't have to spend much time on every detail in the question and just scan the question. I cannot reach the diagnosis in some question but i just try to rule out the answer options.

Hi.
I didnt feel time crunch to such extent but frankly speaking-
real exam Questions are really long. Longer than UW specially in step 2 CK.

but good thing is that Qs are a bit simple... so you dont need to read it twice and think thrice...you read it and you either know the answer or you dont...its smooth.

But I may give some tips that may help you.

Read the last line of the whole paragraph first which has the real Question..
the one which says
what is next best step?
what is diagnosis...
what is most specific test for this condition..

this reeally helps you to focus on that part of history which is more relevant to Question...
sometimes you end up with an ETHICS Q while you were busy wondering about vitals and signs/symptoms of Pt.
if you know that you have to find diagnosis..you can focus on it..
if you know that you have to find next step in management...you will focus on what has been done yet rather than evry fine details of signs and symptoms...
right?

and does this happen to you that previous Q lingers in your mind and it wastes your time...you re read the Question because you were distracted by previous Q..? If so will discuss that later..
Bye for now.
