I passed in 79 questions!
I just wrote my NCLEX-RN yesterday after 4.5 months of studying and I’m happy to say that I passed in 79 questions!
I went through the UWorld test bank questions 2-3 times and watched YouTube videos from Level Up RN, Registered Nurse RN & Simple Nursing to review the concepts. On the UWorld practice test, I scored borderline chance of passing the first time and high chance of passing the second time.
I was quite confident walking into the examination centre, feeling well prepared after spending months reviewing all the material. I realized quickly though that the questions on the NCLEX were extremely vague in comparison to all the UWorld ones. There was a lot of room for guessing and the whole time I felt unsure between the two last choices. I did not pay attention to how many SATA questions or increasing difficulty of questions during the exam so reading the forms afterwards gave me unnecessary anxiety about failing. I had walked out feeling confident but then started to second guess myself because I only had one med math question which did not even require a formula (it was just addition) and did not receive any re-ordering procedure questions.
I had knew when my screen shut down that I either aced the exam or failed so bad that the computerized adaptive testing thought I was irredeemable. Thankfully, I was just overthinking. The results came out at 4:00AM the next day (my test was at 11:30AM) and I had passed! Thank God! My advice to you is to shut off your brain for the next 48 hours as you wait for the results because the increased anxiety will make no difference. Spend the day before your exam relaxing and trust that your studying has paid off. You will pass!
