best course of action
Hello,
I was wondering if someone could explain the best way to approach studying for the MCAT using UWorld. I've previously used Kaplan and I didn't feel like I could figure out the best study habits with it. I would appreciate some clarification of UWorld if someone has figured out what they think the most beneficial plan is.
Hello,
This method is what works best for me personally, others might have different methods.
1. If your main goal is to understand content, then I like to create tests of 10 or so questions for each specific sub-section until I complete all of the questions in the bank. Why 10 questions? I find that I can remember what the question / passage were discussing and what my train of thought was- this allows me to learn from the feed back a lot more efficiently than if I used 20+ questions. I also write down extensive notes for each question using the feedback and using around 10 questions makes that manageable.
2. If your main goal is to simulate the actual MCAT, turn off the tutor mode, and create foundations question banks with every sub-topic included. The amount of questions depends on how motivated you are I suppose but the best option would be 59 since that's typically what the actual MCAT has for each bank.
Hope this helps and good luck!
cheers
