Passed the NCLEX in 75 questions

I found out I passed the NCLEX in 75 questions on Saturday 8/13 after taking the test on Thursday 8/11.
My Uworld average, after completing the whole test bank, was 55%. And I scored a high chance of passing on both of the self assessments. The second self assessment was harder than the first one so I was surprised I still got a high chance of passing on both.

What I did to study:
My school required us to take an exit HESI to graduate. For that test, I listened to Mark Klimek's lectures and took notes from the evolve and HESI practice tests we had.
When it was time to study for the NCLEX, I had a lot of information already in mind from taking that exit HESI. So I used Uworld's rationales to build off the notes I already had for the HESI. Uworld also gave me a lot of information/topics that I didn't have, so I added that to my notes. I used a binder, broke it up into sections: adult/med surg health, pharm, mental health, OB, peds, etc. Some people I knew answered questions from every topic when studying but I answered questions separately by topic. I also answered questions viewing rationales immediately so I could take notes after each question. I know some people advise against that but you have to do what works best for you. I studied for 3 weeks. Some days putting in 6+ hours. One day I answered over 230 practice questions on uworld. If I was not building from information and starting to study for the NCLEX from scratch I probably would have needed 6 weeks to study and feel comfortable. But after I completed the whole q bank on uworld and studied my notes a lot and did the self assessments, I felt as ready as I ever was going to be.

Taking the test:
I was surprised by how hard it was. During the test, some questions I was 100% guessing on. I felt like I was not doing good. Wording on the test was very tricky. When it shut off at 75 questions, I for sure thought I was doing so bad the computer thought it saw enough and was cutting me off because I could not redeem myself. Lots of pharm. Lots of SATA.

After taking the test:
I did the Pearson vue trick and got the good pop up. But I was still not 100% believing that. I got my quick results on Saturday and I passed. Still can't believe it.

Take away notes:
To me the NCLEX was harder than Uworld. But if you use Uworld and Mark K, I believe you will be in good enough shape to get over the passing line.
Also beware of some old information Mark K has in some of his lectures.

Best of luck studying!

Hi , first of all congratulations RN !!
I have my exam in 5 days and sooooo nervous, now my question is in regards to SATA questions; did you mark the ones you were SURE about , did you ever marked only 1 at times to make sure you didn’t mark the incorrect ones ( for example -marking only 1 you were probably very sure about and doubting on the other ones) … this type of questions are the only ones that keep me nervous because it’s impossible to know it ALL> please advice on how you did your SATA on NCLEX. Thank you !
