PEARSON VUE TRICK didn’t work for me

Recently took my nclex last Friday and was super nervous but prepared with UWorld from like March 24 - April 25. Studied almost everyday for at least 4-7 hours a day minus some weekend days. I did two of the self assessments also. I did the first self assessment about half way thru studying and got a 57%. I did my second assessment two days before my test and I got a 60% “higher” chance of passing. I really felt good going into my test with those numbers. I did at least 75 questions a day and then some on average, but had about 600 questions left that I didn’t complete.

When I took the test, I was of course nervous but made sure I felt calm walking in, didn’t get any rest the night before. The test was very hard for me, like half the stuff I felt like I didn’t know and I was guessing a ton! I didn’t have a ton of select all that apply and that made me really nervous because that’s what you hear from others that your “doing good”. The test shut off at 107 for me and I left the building feeling like I failed.

Few hours after the test I tried the “Pearson Vue trick”. All my classmates that had passed before me said it worked for them and I tried to put my credit card in, but put one number off on it, like the expiration date. I did so, and I got the bad pop up, “card is invalid, please renter” or whatever something like that. I was like “yep I failed”. Then the next day (Saturday) my classmate who also was in there taking the test tells me to check Department of Health (wa state) to see the status change on my RN license, cause hers did and said “active”. I checked and YALL that confirmed to me that I failed. Because my license still said “pending” from the weeks before. I was even leaving for Mexico with my family the next day and was so bummed out cause neither of the “tricks” worked for me.

So on my way to the airport, it had been two business days and I decided to check to see if my unofficial results were in to purchase. They were. I paid the fee and... I passed. What a relief!

The point I want to get to is that the Pearson Vue trick doesn’t always work, and at least in my state of WA, it doesn’t always work to check your status on department of health credentials either. I really really thought the trick worked and was so disappointed and sad the last two days cause of all the posts I saw people saying it works “90-99%” of the time. Well it doesn’t and I now know and want to tell others to wait the two days (if able) and don’t be discouraged if you do try it and it doesn’t work! Good luck out there!

I completely agree with you that the Pearson Vue trick does not work all the time at all. I had a high chance of passing when I took my Uworld assessment 2 on Sep. 3, then I took my Nclex on Monday, Sep. 9. I got so many SATA questions nearly 30 of them, I knew I was doing well as my questions got harder and harder as it progressed, 2 EKGs but no math at all, just steady difficult prioritization questions. I think the computer shut off at question 104 or 105, something like that, I left feeling confident and did the PV trick a few hours later, it tried to charge my card so I stopped, I was so bummed I decided I was going to register for the exam again, my child told me to be patient and wait for the official results, I still wanted to pay and start studying again, only to check my BON this morning, and my license number just popped up right there in front of me with RN next to my name :-), I am so happy and grateful to God!!
PV trick does not always work so please be careful, ALWAYS check with your BON. Good luck all.
