I have two more days to renew my Kaplan Qbank, i've done about 500 plus the Kaplan assesment and i'm now debating if now is the time to switch to UWorld?? Can anyone shed light on this. Should finish Kaplan Qbank first and then do UWorld or should I just drop Kaplan all together and go to UWorld..I only have less than two days to make up my mind. PLEASE HELP!!

Hey Kenwall, I've done over 500 questions plus the diagnostic this past month, I must add that I purchased the web prep and hated the Kaplan Lectures , I actually like reading on my own from the lecture books and using the FA as my note book. I'm feeling like i'm going to switch to UWorld this week and use NBME to gauge my score range. okay i hope this helps

Hey Ken,
Don't worry, you now have the web prep so you can't get your money back, I think that if I remember any of the lectures being good, it was the Microbiology and the Pathology lectures. I wouldn't even waste my time with the anatomy lectures. The qbank I started off only gettting around 40% now i'm close to 70% but like I said i'm going to go ahead and switch to UWORLD because sometimes I feel like Kaplan is trying to base their questions on the needle details of their lecture notes. It looks like it's good to start off with but yeah go ahead and change when you are months closer to your exam to UWorld. I'm doing that next week. I'll let you know how it goes. Take care and be encouraged :-)

Hi Kanwall, My biggest advice to you would be to read the material and FA before you start doing a big bulk of questions. Kaplan is known to being very detailed with their questions (a little too detailed for me) so you will have to pay particular focus on their lecture notes and then the First AID to start scoring Higher. I did just that, and then I started to score higher. I hope this helps

Hi Kanwall, if you feel you have a solid foundantion in Immunology/microbio and other subject just do the First Aid as a review..but if you don't have the foundation it will not be helpful. So read all the Kaplan books and then look at First Aid for consolidation of the info. This is a long process but you have to do the work and it will pay off in the future!!! Good luck and don't be discouraged we are all going through it on this forum
