Thanks zwang
I used MTB for step 2CK (by Conrad Fisher-2010)
I studied about 3/4 of this book.

hello Hokh; congrats to you getting good score in ck i want to know whats your percentage with 260 SCORE IN STEP2 CK. in real exam how many questions of PSCHIATRY/ BIOSTATICS./OBGYNE.let me please reply me soon THANKS. SHME

2/10/2012 4:09:29 AM
Hello and Thanks SHME
The two digit score is NOT a percentage
And it will NOT BE REPORTED to residency programs anymore
Psychiatry & OBGYN are so commonly questioned in the exam, Biostat a little
But bear in mind that INTERNAL MEDICINE is the MOST IMPORTANT one.
Near my exam, I did a good review of Internal Medicine which helped me so much.

Thanks SaAb
1.UW : First time all mixed + timed and 2nd time ONLY incorrect Qs.
Kaplan Lecture Notes : First time a quick study + 2nd time a complete study with all details + Several times my own notes from Kaplan LN (I summarized 1400 pages of Kaplan LN into 150 pages of my own notes which was very helpful)
2.The most helpful is your own notes + UW
3.Pathophysio is 2-3 Qs per block and was not a problem for me bcs I had recently passed step1.
4.Last month : UW + MTB + My own notes >> the last 10 days I forced on INTERNAL MEDICINE bcs I found out it was the best way to increase my score.
***I hope this can help you, please ask me if there are any Qs I can help.

Thanks zekh
You need to know every single detail in Kaplan LN, specially in internal medicine which is the most important topic. I suggest that you write down your own notes from Kaplan to study it several times, and MTB can help you get stronger in decision making in your exam. You should also review your incorrect Qs in UW very well.
How did I manage my time ? Do you mean during the real test ?

My time management :
1st block = 55 minutes + 5 min for rest (at the table)
2nd block = 55 minutes + 25 min for rest (outside the exam room)
I repeated this cycle until the exam finished

Congrats for that awesome score!

Can you please comment if you used kaplan lecture videos or just the books? Would you recommend the videos?
Did you studied the main subjects in any specific order?

Thanks

Hi MorrisS, thanks
I did not use lecture videos for step 2CK, So I don't know how useful they are
I had no specific order to study, but make sure to do your best on INTERNAL medicine.
I hope this helps you.

@rasi94634195 : you are either very ignorant or funny!

Do you really want to say that your whole world is so small that you have no freaking clue that Sunday is not a holiday in every country!!!

Seriously.... hope you were joking! Cause if not then you are horrible candidate to practice as a Medical doctor, I don't even see you as a Walmart clerk either!!!

Hi SHME
Yes, with 216 you will pass. This score is a bit lower than the average (220) in step2, and I don't know about 2 digit score.

congrats! great job... would you mind telling me which edition of kaplan did you use?? Cuz I have the 2009 ones ... would it work by using them along with the latest FA and MTB??

Thanks so much, I used 2009 (or maybe 2010, I am not sure) version and that's pretty enough if you use MTB. I don't like FA for step 2CK and I don't recommend it.
Good luck

Congrats!
I also recently took the exam (sept 2012)and got my scores back 230 (Oct 2012) and I wanted to confirm what you have said here so others can benefit. Master the Boards 2 appears to be scanty when you flip through the pages but honestly, if one can sit down and go through every page of that book, doing well on CK is guaranteed! PLUS the reliable and trustworthy UWorld Qbank and Self Assessment. Concentrating on these 2 materials in a detailed manner and occasional glances at Kaplan Notes, you will definitely do well on CK. But above all, believe you can and YOU WILL!!
Just wanted to share this with everyone here,in addition to what you already told them. Congrats again!!
