taking step 3 before entering residency
Hi. I want to sit for Step 3 before starting residency, however, if I understood correctly, in some states you have to be enrolled in residency program when sitting for the exam. Does anyone have some tips and advice where to go, how long does it take to get a testing date, their experience with the exam, etc. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
there are some states where you can take it without having to be in residency. i think i'm going to take mine in Iowa.
The Federation of State Medical Boards has discontinued the "state sponsor" thing. You do not need to be in residency to take Step 3. You have to have graduated though.
