Advice please: Scores required to match
Hi,
I am a US citizen, however an IMG.
If I have around 200 in my Step 1 and 2 exams, CS passed first attempt, how many chances do I have of landing a residency?
Thank you!

Wrong question. As long as you pass steps from first attempts you do have chances. The correct question should be: what part of my application will impress a PD besides USMLE scores? Is it a research experience or outstanding community service/volunteering or something else? A PD has hundreds applications like yours in front of him - make yours stand out and you will get in.
Thank you!
you need to be a recent graduate 3-max 5 years out
if not, you MUST have US clinical experience prefferebly the whole preceding year to the match, they need recent US experience specialty apropriate ( if lets you want FM you need FM us clerkships in FM).
Also FM do not require research, pediatrics does.
All surgery/obgyn/derma specialties require 2 year max out of graduation, if not I wouldn't advice you to apply and waste your $$ and chances.
if you are an IMG you need to apply to at least 200 programs per specialty statistically to obtain at least 3-4 interviews.
lastly, I recommend Americlerkship for US experience, I'm with them right now.
best of luck
Thank you.
